Urgent help needed for new cases!

Friday, December 20th, 2019

We have received a lot of new cases recently and we are struggling to take care of anything. If you can help us with these new expenses, please donate through PayPal at [email protected] or through Animal Diplomacy. These cases are urgent and will be very expensive to treat.

This puppy has multiple breaks in his front leg and will need an immediate operation and screws to fix it.
Mona was picked up over three weeks ago. While operating, the vet discovered it is not only prolapse but her bladder was out, she has tumors on her ovaries, and her kidneys were in very rough shape with one barely functioning. It was a very difficult operation that took time and effort from our dedicated Dr. Kirolos but she is in good hands. She’s currently at ESMA on a renal diet.
Per Dr. Kirolos, she has more than 25 Pellets in her body. Some of them are fully embedded in her lungs and the rest all over her chest and body. The pellets cannot be removed so we will work on healing the injuries and any infection. It is a long and expensive process but we will do all that we can for her.
This dog was run over by a train and lost its back legs,
The dog is under treatment and amputation will need to be done but not until we finish the treatment for a respiratory problem.

Monday, May 27th, 2019

Check out Malvern College Egypt for the full story with pictures.

Pupils from both Primary and Secondary had the opportunity to visit the ESMA (Egyptian Society of Mercy to Animals) dog shelter. The pupils donated a substantial amount of money that was raised over the past year in various events. The money donated will be used to supply the animals with food and medical supplies. It was a wonderful day, as the pupils were able to interact with the animals as well as clean them.

ESMA and ESAF introduce Trap, Neuter, Release program in Sheikh Zayed

Sunday, December 23rd, 2018

We are proud to announce ESMA has been a main factor in reaching the first agreement of its kind with the new communities authority to apply TNR in Sheikh Zayed area and stop poisoning or shooting dogs for one year till the project is evaluated, ESMA signed held the negotiations for more than a year and signed on behalf of the federation. Yesterday was first day of the campaign and resulted in Trapping 16 dogs in total , ESMA and ESAF catchers were conducting the process, a bigger number of dogs could have been caught but due to lack of funds to rent more cars we had to use only two. Operations are being done now at the premises of ESMA and ESAF .

We are looking forward to the success of this project to be the role model that we need to apply in more areas and to show the government and the veterinary authorities what we have been calling for to be applied for decades. The groups are carrying all the expenses and we are looking forward to the help of our supporters that always have been there for the animals of Egypt to keep supporting and donating so we can reach our goal. Initial number of operations estimated are 2000 operations, all dogs will be vaccinated by Pfizer defensor 3 rabies vaccine to ensure their safety to be released again to their same areas.

September update on the new shelter

Friday, September 7th, 2018

Dear ESMA friends,
Our big move, being forced to take all our 1400+ animals to the new shelter is almost upon us. It is already September and the big move must happen next month.
We are sick with worry as we are not ready.
As of today, we do not have any money to finish the cat shelter so more than 700 cats will not be able to move. We still need to buy most of the doors, windows, and the roofs.
The outside area for the cats is also yet to be done.
We still need to buy fencing to secure the perimeter of the cat area.
As of today we still have to build the dog shelters in each of the large communal living areas plus a further 6 dog kennels.
We still don’t have a kitchen area to make and prepare the dogs food/clean their dishes. This space is essential with 800 dogs.
There is no bathroom, no dogs worker’s room, no storage room, and no laundry room.
As of today, we cannot afford the iron gates and fencing needed to secure the perimeter of the new shelter.
I think our 1,400 rescued dogs and cats need a miracle.
Please consider donating.
Please don’t hesitate, thinking your donation is too small, it won’t be, we promise you.
The future for our 1,400+ fur babies is dependent on YOU.
We have exhausted all our resources and we are out of money.
We cannot move forward without your help.
