Pet shop raid and confiscation in Cairo

Egyptian Society of Animal Friends and ESMA worked together to confiscate eleven animals from the horrible pet shop located near the Qasr al-Ayni hospital on Qasr al-Ayni street.  The animals were kept there in terrrible and inhumane conditions and several of the cats we confiscated died soon thereafter from dehydration and starvation.

We ask everyone in Egypt to never buy animals from pet shops.  Your purchases only encourage them to obtain more animals, many of which are surely stolen.june-15-364

  2. Hi, I was reading something else about this on another blog. Interesting. Your perspective on it is diametrically contradicted to what I read earlier. I am still pondering over the opposite points of view, but I’m leaning to a great extent toward yours. And irrespective, that’s what is so great about modern-day democracy and the marketplace of ideas online.

    Dear ESMA;

    Many thanks for your effort, but I think you should try also that shop in Down Town Abdul Khalik Tharwat street next to KFC, as they treat animals in a cruel way.

    Pay them a visit and please give them a hard time.

    Also am looking for a good pried dog for adoption hope that you can help me

    bonjour
    Je suis tellement contente que cette boutique est fermée.
    je vivais au caire en 2004 et je me souviens y être entrée car je ne vivais pas loin. J’ai été tres choquée par les conditions de vie des animaux (ou plutot de mort) et j’ai dit au proprio qu’il était le diable et que sa boutique était l’enfer.
    A l’époque j’avais tenté de joindre des ONG sur place mais personne n’avait répondu.
    Je suis tellement contente que cette boutique soit fermée actuellement et grace à vous, que j’en ai les larmes aux yeux.
    merci beaucoup pour votre aide.
    Aurélia
